Help and Healing for Washington Residents

While law enforcement punishes those involved in drug dealing and abuse, Foundations Recovery Network (FRN) is interesting in treating Washington residents who suffer from alcoholism, drug addiction and/or mental health disorders. Our dual diagnosis approach to treatment has been proven as a key to successful recovery. Through our co-occurring clinical and psychological treatment coupled with our residential and outpatient treatment programs, clients suffering from substance abuse and mental health issues ranging from anxiety and depression to bi-polar and PTSD are finding the strength to end addiction and begin a new healthy life in recovery.

We attribute our success to our approach, which includes:

  • Motivational Approaches – Our clinical staff is trained to use motivational enhancement strategies to engage clients. This field-tested method of implementing client directed services maximizes client engagement and avoids use of outdated confrontational strategies.
  • Integrated Treatment – All behavioral health and addictions needs can be addressed in one setting, with a team of experts including psychiatrists, social workers, nurses and licensed alcohol and drug counselors each lending their expertise.
  • Trained Staff – Our entire team is taught to deliver evidence-based practices of care through classroom and applied studies.
  • Client Recovery Workbook Series – A proprietary product developed by us based upon evidence-based practices and our own experiences in treatment, these workbooks provide clients with comprehensive integrated information about how to maximize their recovery experience.
  • Client Directed Treatment - Clients are treated as partners in, rather than subjects of, the recovery process. As such, they are encouraged to determine the pace, goals and course of treatment.

An Ongoing Drug Problem in Washington

Washington state earned a bad reputation for drug use during the ‘90s grunge movement, when musicians flocked to Seattle and heroin made its way through the community. Today, other drugs have taken the spotlight.

A recent study shows that the drug-induced death rate in Washington, which has already been higher than the national average for 30 years, is increasing rapidly, more than doubling in the past decade. Much of this increase stems from the misuse of prescription opiates. But its alcohol abuse and underage drinking that continue to be Washington State’s biggest drug problems, with one-fifth of Washington 12th graders reported being drunk or high in school in the past year and one in eight using prescription pain relievers to get high in the past 30 days.

In 2008, almost four in 10 admissions to publicly funded treatment for prescription-type opiate addiction were young adults ages 18-25. The overall number of individuals entering treatment within 30 days of completing detox has increased 37 percent since in the last decade, likely due to an increase in state-funded treatment.
