Help for New York Residents with Addiction

Foundations Recovery Network (FRN) is committed to providing treatment for those who suffer from the disease of addiction. Our dual diagnosis approach to treatment has been proven as a key to successful recovery. Through our co-occurring clinical and psychological treatment coupled with our residential and outpatient treatment programs, clients suffering from substance abuse and mental health issues ranging from anxiety and depression to bi-polar and PTSD are finding the strength to end addiction and begin a new healthy life in recovery.

Integrated Treatment for Co-Occurring Disorders

FRN specializes in the treatment of co-occurring disorders with our comprehensive treatment model, which has been tested and proven through 11 federally-funded research studies. This model demonstrated twice the success rate for continuing sobriety one year post-treatment compared to the national average of traditional programs.

What is integrated treatment and why is it important for long-term recovery? Watch the video to understand why we focus on the whole person to treat co-occurring addiction and mental health disorders:

The Foundations Recovery Network Difference

FRN specializes in the treatment of co-occurring disorders with our proven, comprehensive treatment model, which has been tested and proven through 11 federally-funded research studies. This model demonstrated twice the success rate for continuing sobriety one year post-treatment compared to the national average of traditional programs.

We attribute our success to our approach, which includes:

  • Client Directed Treatment – Clients are treated as partners in, rather than subjects of, the recovery process. As such, they are encouraged to determine the pace, goals and course of treatment.
  • Integrated Treatment – All behavioral health and addictions needs can be addressed in one setting, with a team of experts including psychiatrists, social workers, nurses and licensed alcohol and drug counselors each lending their expertise.
  • Motivational Approaches – Our clinical staff is trained to use motivational enhancement strategies to engage clients. This field-tested method of implementing client directed services maximizes client engagement and avoids use of outdated confrontational strategies.
  • Trained Staff – Our entire team is taught to deliver evidence-based practices of care through classroom and applied studies.
  • Client Recovery Workbook Series – A proprietary product developed by us based upon evidence-based practices and our own experiences in treatment, these workbooks provide clients with comprehensive integrated information about how to maximize their recovery experience.

FRN staffThere is a difference when it comes to treatment programs, and no program has been proven more compassionate, flexible or effective. With a highly experienced and caring staff, comprehensive treatment facilities and a long-term commitment to helping those with drug and alcohol addictions, FRN provides a full scope of services to meet the needs of persons with co-occurring conditions. Combining our research-based innovations with emerging evidence-based practices, we offer some of the lowest dropout rates in the industry.

For many, pursuing substance abuse treatment far from home provides a clean slate and fewer distractions. We are a national company with programs across several states. Our residential treatment facilities include The Canyon, Michael’s House and La Paloma Treatment Center.

For those not in need of residential care, our primary outpatient program, Foundations Atlanta, offers comprehensive care without the need to be away from home.

New York’s Drug Abuse Problem

New York state is best known for the city by the same name. The Big Apple is a hugely popular tourist destination, but this busy metropolitan area is also marked by drug use. Statewide, there are approximately 1,342,000 New York residents who admitted to a dependence on or abuse of illicit drugs or alcohol in the past year, according to the latest National Survey on Drug Use and Health. Of those who were drug- or alcohol-dependent, 432,000 needed but did not receive treatment.

New York City has the dubious distinction of being one of the most significant drug destinations and distribution centers in the United States. Heroin, cocaine, crack and Ecstasy have the most significant impact on New York. While not the biggest issue, meth-related incidents are also on the rise.

Colombian distributors continue to supply New York’s top cocaine rings, with coke distributed at the retail level not just on sales on the street, but product also changes hands in bars and small markets. Some organizations even deliver to homes and offices via car service in New York City. South American heroin is common and inexpensive in New York. Club drugs and marijuana round out the drug problem in New York state.
