Foundations Recovery Network (FRN) is committed to providing treatment for Mississippi residents who suffer from the disease of addiction and/or mental health disorders. Our dual diagnosis approach to treatment has been proven as a key to successful recovery. Through our co-occurring clinical and psychological treatment coupled with our residential and outpatient treatment programs, clients suffering from substance abuse and mental health issues ranging from anxiety and depression to bipolar and PTSD are finding the strength to end addiction and begin a new healthy life in recovery.

The Foundations Recovery Network Difference
FRN specializes in the treatment of co-occurring disorders with our proven, comprehensive treatment model, which has been tested and proven through 11 federally-funded research studies. This model demonstrated twice the success rate for continuing sobriety one year post-treatment compared to the national average of traditional programs.
We attribute our success to our approach, which includes:
- Motivational Approaches – Our clinical staff is trained to use motivational enhancement strategies to engage clients. This field-tested method of implementing client directed services maximizes client engagement and avoids use of outdated confrontational strategies.
- Integrated Treatment – All behavioral health and addictions needs can be addressed in one setting, with a team of experts including psychiatrists, social workers, nurses and licensed alcohol and drug counselors each lending their expertise.
- Client Directed Treatment - Clients are treated as partners in, rather than subjects of, the recovery process. As such, they are encouraged to determine the pace, goals and course of treatment.
- Trained Staff – Our entire team is taught to deliver evidence-based practices of care through classroom and applied studies.
- Client Recovery Workbook Series – A proprietary product developed by us based upon evidence-based practices and our own experiences in treatment, these workbooks provide clients with comprehensive integrated information about how to maximize their recovery experience.
There is a difference when it comes to treatment programs, and no program has been proven more compassionate, flexible or effective. With a highly experienced and caring staff, comprehensive treatment facilities and a long-term commitment to helping those with drug and alcohol addictions, FRN provides a full scope of services to meet the needs of persons with co-occurring conditions. Combining our research-based innovations with emerging evidence-based practices, we offer some of the lowest dropout rates in the industry.
For many, pursuing substance abuse treatment far from home provides a clean slate and fewer distractions. We are a national company with programs across several states. Our residential treatment facilities include The Canyon, Michael’s House and La Paloma Treatment Center. We also offer outpatient treatment through Foundations Atlanta as well as Michael’s House and La Paloma.

A Growing Problem in Mississippi
Mississippi can claim popular universities and famous writers among its accomplishments, but it also has many problems from poverty and low test scores among its students to drug abuse.
Cocaine, primarily crack, is the primary drug threat in Mississippi due to the availability of the drug and its high addiction rate. Cocaine abuse is reported in Mississippi’s cities as well as rural areas. The abuse and distribution of cocaine is associated with more incidents of violent crime than any other drug within the state. Methamphetamine’s are the second most serious drug threat in Mississippi due to increasing availability, low cost, rapid growth of abuse and threat to human life. Meanwhile, marijuana continues to be the most commonly used drug in Mississippi and one teens and young adults who are beginning to experiment with drugs gravitate toward. In contrast, heroin is considered a minimal drug threat in Mississippi due to the low demand and high cost of the drug.
According to a recent government study, seven percent of Mississippi citizens ages 12 or older reported past month use of an illicit drug, and more than three percent of all Mississippi residents reported illicit drug dependence or abuse within the past year.
