• Motivational Approaches – Our clinical staff is trained to use motivational enhancement strategies to engage clients. This field-tested method of implementing client directed services maximizes client engagement and avoids use of outdated confrontational strategies.
• Integrated Treatment – All behavioral health and addictions needs can be addressed in one setting, with a team of experts including psychiatrists, social workers, nurses and licensed alcohol and drug counselors each lending their expertise.

An Ongoing Problem in Maryland

Because of its location situated on the north end of the mid-Atlantic region and bisected by Interstate-95, drugs, weapons, and illicit proceeds destined for points south of New York City routinely pass through Baltimore, MD. Suburban Washington, DC and the Baltimore metropolitan area also add to the drug problem in this area.

Approximately 430,000 Maryland residents ages 12 or older admit to alcoholic tendencies or illicit drug dependence or abuse in the past year. Cocaine and crack abuse and distribution pose a significant threat throughout the state of Maryland, particularly in cities situated near Washington, DC. Law enforcement sources in cities and towns located along the Eastern Shore and in western Maryland also cite crack cocaine as the primary drug threat in their areas. Heroin is also commonly abused throughout Maryland, but is most problematic in and around the city of Baltimore, which boasts higher numbers of heroin addicts and heroin-related crime than almost any other city in the nation.
