Help and Healing for Georgia Residents

Foundations Recovery Network (FRN) is committed to providing treatment and rehab for those who suffer from the disease of addiction and mental health disorders. Our dual diagnosis approach to treatment has been proven as a key to successful recovery. Through our co-occurring clinical and psychological treatment coupled with our residential and outpatient treatment programs, clients suffering from substance abuse and mental health issues ranging from anxiety and depression to bi-polar and PTSD are finding the strength to end addiction and begin a new healthy life in recovery.

Integrated Treatment for Co-Occurring Disorders

FRN specializes in the treatment of co-occurring disorders with our proven, comprehensive treatment model, which has been tested and proven through 11 federally-funded research studies. This model demonstrated twice the success rate for continuing sobriety one year post-treatment compared to the national average of traditional programs.

What is integrated treatment and why is it important for long-term recovery? Watch the video to understand why we focus on the whole person to treat co-occurring addiction and mental health disorders:

The Foundations Recovery Network Difference

FRN specializes in the treatment of co-occurring disorders with our proven, comprehensive treatment model, which has been tested and proven through 11 federally-funded research studies. This model demonstrated twice the success rate for continuing sobriety one year post-treatment compared to the national average of traditional programs.

We attribute our success to our approach, which includes:

  • Motivational Approaches – Our clinical staff is trained to use motivational enhancement strategies to engage clients. This field-tested method of implementing client directed services maximizes client engagement and avoids use of outdated confrontational strategies.
  • Integrated Treatment – All mental health disorders and addictions needs can be addressed in one setting, with a team of experts including psychiatrists, social workers, nurses and licensed alcohol and drug counselors each lending their expertise.
  • Trained Staff – Our entire team is taught to deliver evidence-based practices of care through classroom and applied studies.
  • Client Recovery Workbook Series – A proprietary product developed by us based upon evidence-based practices and our own experiences in treatment, these workbooks provide clients with comprehensive integrated information about how to maximize their recovery experience.
  • Client Directed Treatment – Clients are treated as partners in, rather than subjects of, the recovery process. As such, they are encouraged to determine the pace, goals and course of treatment.

FRN staffThere is a difference when it comes to treatment programs, and no program has been proven more compassionate, flexible or effective. With a highly experienced and caring staff, comprehensive treatment facilities and a long-term commitment to helping those with drug and alcohol addictions, FRN provides a full scope of services to meet the needs of persons with co-occurring conditions (behavioral and mental health disorders). Combining our research-based innovations with emerging evidence-based practices, we offer some of the lowest dropout rates in the industry.

For many, pursuing substance abuse treatment far from home provides a clean slate and fewer distractions. We are a national company with programs across several states and welcome Georgia residents. Our residential treatment and rehab facilities include The Canyon, Michael’s House and La Paloma Treatment Center.

For those not in need of residential care, our primary outpatient program, Foundations Atlanta, offers comprehensive care without the need to be away from home.

Georgia Substance Abuse: An Ongoing Problem

Many think of Georgians as genteel southerners and the state as home of Gone With the Wind, but it’s not immune to the dangers of drug use, with addiction and substance abuse reaching here as well.

Cocaine and crack cocaine continue to be among the most widely available drugs throughout Georgia, according to a recent government study. Bulk quantities of powder cocaine are usually transported into the state and then converted into crack by the local wholesaler or retailer. Georgia is largely deemed a transit and to a lesser degree, a distribution point for heroin; however, heroin availability remains stable throughout the Atlanta metropolitan area. Marijuana, on the other hand, is the most commonly abused drug in Georgia and is readily available throughout the state, with the state’s proximity to the Mexican border providing easy access. Methamphetamine abuse also continues to be a premier threat throughout the state. Club drugs like MDMA, GHB and ketamine remain popular and readily available, while prescription opiates like Vicodin and OxyContin continue to be a growing problem in Georgia across all age groups. According to the study, eight percent of Georgia citizens (ages 12 or older) reported using illicit drugs in the past month.
